Our Mission
Our mission is to inform and educate while building community awareness about food allergies, and help Northern Virginia families navigate the lifestyle challenges that food allergies present.
Our History
Our children were diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies as young toddlers. We met through our daughters’ preschool and soon realized that we had something special in common: a shared need to convert our fear and frustration into a more positive approach to managing our kids’ allergies.

We’ve worked closely with our allergists and we’ve received invaluable help from the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network – among other resources – but we know that nothing beats a phone call or email from a friend with good news about a “safe” recipe, tips on handling birthday parties, or updates on new research. So we want to begin connecting the community of parents and individuals in this same situation and help raise the comfort levels of the many people in Northern Virginia who are living with food allergies.

We can’t provide medical advice, we aren’t experts on all the resources available (yet), but we know a support group in Northern Virginia is long past due. We hope that this website and our upcoming meetings offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all families dealing with the life-changing experiences that a food allergy diagnosis brings.

Please write to us with any ideas, suggestions or experiences you’d like to share – we’d love to hear from you.
